8. Install a new filter element. Ensure thefilter fits snugly in the filter cap.9. Install the cap and filter assembly.Tighten cap by hand until the sealtouches the housing.10. Tighten to 25 N·m (225 in.-lb).11. Fill with new engine oil. See AddingEngine Oil on page 29.NOTICE: NEVER mix different types ofengine oil. This may adversely affect thelubricating properties of the engine oil.NEVER overfill. Overfilling may result inwhite exhaust smoke, engineoverspeed or internal damage.12. Perform a trial run and check for oilleaks.13. Approximately 10 minutes afterstopping the engine, remove the oildipstick and check the oil level.
