Insert thetelephone stand into four holes on theunderside of the telephone set (so that thetelephone can stand on the desk). Attach theLAN cable (black cable) to the socket on theunderside of the telephone marked "Internet"and attach the other end of this cable tointernet modem, router or switch. If you haveonly one LAN socket available, it should beused for connecting the telephone and the PCshould then be connected to the telephone (tothe socket on the underside of the telephoneset marked "PC"). If your network does notsupport PoE (Power on Ethernet), it isnecessary to use a telephone feed adaptor (anoptional accessory). The telephone will thenstart up and the message “Starting…pleasewait…" will appear on the display. This maytake several minutesduring which the telephone updates itself andit may also restart itself. Then it should bepossible to sign up to the network. Right in thetelephone a list of telephone contacts hasbeen made ready for you to use. To open thelist of contacts for the first time you have toenter your assigned telephone number andthe password. You will receive these details onthe delivery of the service. Making a callLift the receiver or press the "Loudspeaker"button and enter the required telephonenumber using the numeric keypad and confirmby pressing the context-dependent button"Call". To end the call, press again the"Loudspeaker" button or put down thereceiver.2. Control functionsNavigation button is used for moving in themenu. Button OK is used to confirm the diallingoption. There are also the following types ofbuttons on the telephone – the context- -dependent buttons and the programmablebuttons. The functions ofprogrammable buttons are set: User line,Business contacts, Personal contacts. Thefunctions of the context--dependent buttonsare changed automatically depending on theoperating condition of the telephone. Menucan be browsed using navigation buttons ordirect dials as every direct dial is numbered.The manual will also describe the so-calledsequence, meaning initiation of aconfiguration menu using the context-dependent “Menu” button and pressing directoptions 1-9 confirmed by the OK button. I.e.:the Menu-2-4-1 sequence means pressing theMENU, 2, OK, 4, OK, 1, OK buttons.
