173858-YIM-A-0306Unitary Products Group 3GENERALModel D1EB units are factory assembled cooling only air con-ditioners designed for outdoor installation on a rooftop or aslab.The units are completely assembled on rigid, but easilyremovable base rails. All piping, refrigerant charge, and elec-trical wiring is factory installed and tested. The units requireonly electric power and duct connections at the point of instal-lation.INSPECTIONAs soon as a unit is received, it should be inspected for possi-ble damage during transit. If damage is evident, the extent ofthe damage should be noted on the carrier's freight bill. Aseparate request for inspection by the carrier's agent shouldbe made in writing. National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPS No. 70 or CanadianElectrical Code Part 1, C22.1 (latest editions).2. Local plumbing and waste water codes and other appli-cable local codes.Refer to Table 1 for unit application data.If components are to be added to a unit to meet local codes,they are to be installed at the dealer's and/or the customer'sexpense.Size of unit for proposed installation should be based on heatloss/heat gain calculations made in accordance with industryrecognized procedures identified by the Air ConditioningContractors of America.LOCATIONUse the following guidelines to select a suitable location forthese units.1. Unit is designed for outdoor installation only.2. Condenser must have an unlimited supply of air. Wherea choice of location is possible, position unit on eithernorth or east side of building.3. For ground level installation, a level pad or slab shouldbe used.
