5011492-XIM-B-0815Johnson Controls Unitary Products 9ClearancesAll units require particular clearances for proper operation andservice. Installer must make provisions for adequatecombustion and ventilation air in accordance with section 5.3 ofAir for Combustion and Ventilation of the National Fuel GasCode, ANSI Z223.1 – Latest Edition (in U.S.A.), or Sections 7.2,7.3, or 7.4 of Gas Installation Codes, CSA-B149.1 (in Canada) -Latest Edition, and/or applicable provisions of the local buildingcodes. Refer to Table 17 for clearances required forcombustible construction, servicing, and proper unit operation.LENGTH OF FORKS MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 1067MM(42”).Condensate DrainPlumbing must conform to local codes. Use a sealingcompound on male pipe threads. Install a condensate drain linefrom the 3/4” NPT female connection on the unit to an opendrain.NOTE: The condensate drain operates in a negative pressurein the cabinet. The condensate drain line MUST betrapped to provide proper drainage. See Figure 1.CompressorsUnits are shipped with compressor mountings factory-adjustedand ready for operation.Units with scroll compressors have a shipping bracket whichmust be removed after the unit is set in place. See Figure 2.Filters25 mm (1”) or 51 mm (2”) filters can be supplied with each unit.Filters must always be installed ahead of the evaporator coiland must be kept clean or replaced with same size and type.Dirty filters will reduce the capacity of the unit and will result infrosted coils or safety shutdown. Minimum filter area andrequired sizes are shown in Physical Data Table 11.Service AccessThe following removable panels provide access to allserviceable components:• Compressor compartment• Electric Heat compartment• Gas Heat compartment• Blower compartment• Main control box• Filter compartmentDo not permit overhanging structures or shrubs toobstruct condenser air discharge outlet, combustion airinlet or vent outlets. All panels must be secured in place when the unit islifted. The condenser coils should be protected from riggingcable damage with plywood or other suitable material.Figure 1: Recommended Drain PipingFigure 2: Compressor Restraining BracketDo not loosen compressor mounting bolts.WIRE TIE (CUT AND REMOVE)MOUNTINGBRACKET TOP(REMOVE)MOUNTINGBRACKET BASEREMOVE THESESCREWS (2)COMPRESSOR
