Theoutside unit is designed to be placed alongside or at theback of the home, remote from the indoor coil. The out-door unit has been factory run–tested and all compo-nents of the system are ready for easy, immediate instal -lation.INSPECTIONCheck the unit thoroughly for shipping damage, Unusual -ly rough handling during shipment may loosen fan mo-tors, compressors, or other components. Be sure that theunit is ready to operate before installing it. The outdoor unitmust be installed with a compatible indoor unit asdesignatedin the specification data or in the Directo-ry of Certified Unitary Air Conditioners published bythe Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute. Us -ing unmatched components may not only affect theperformance of the system, but may also void thewarranty of the equipment.Do not install any coil in a furnace which is to be op -erated during the heating season without attachingthe refrigerant lines to the coil. Allowing the coilcharge to enter the refrigerant lines prevents exces -sive refrigerant pressure build–up and possible coildamage.The unit should be installed in accordance with all nation -al and local codes and regulations which govern theinstallation of this type of equipment. In lieu of localcodes, the equipment should be installed in accordancewith National Electric Code, and in accordance with therecommendations made by the National Board of FireUnderwriters.Limitations for the indoor unit, coil and appropriate acces -sories must also be observed.The outdoor unit must not be installed with any duct workin the air stream. The outdoor fan is the propeller type andis not designed to operate against any additional externalstatic pressure.
