P5417052 23● All electrical work must be done as outlined in this manual and in accordance with this manual.Substandard work can result in fire and damage to the unit.● Use specified cables between units and choose the cables correctly. If not, an electrical shock orfire may occur.● Do not open the service cover or access panel for the indoor or outdoor units without turning OFFthe main power supply. It can result in an electrical shock.● Turn OFF the main power switch of the indoor unit and the outdoor unit before attempting any electricalwiring work or a periodical check is performed. If not, it will result in an electric shock or a fire.● Check to ensure that the indoor fan and the outdoor fan have stopped before attempting anyelectrical wiring work or for any scheduled electrical work that is being performed.● Protect electrical wiring, condensate piping, and electrical components from threats posed byburrowing animals and temperature extremes. Failure to do so can, over time, deteriorate systemperformance.● Tighten screws according to the following torque.M3.5: 0.9 ft·lbs (1.2 N·m)M4: 0.7 to 1.0 ft·lbs (1.0 to 1.3 N·m)● Connect ground wiring for the outdoor / indoor unit to prevent electrical shock or an unexpecteddischarge. The ground resistance must be less than 1 megohm. The grounding must be performedby authorized installers.● Disconnect or turn OFF the main power supply to prevent electrical shock when opening theservice cover to perform electrical maintenance.● Take care not to pinch electrical wiring when attaching the service cover. Electrical fire or shockcan occur.● Insulate all wiring with accessory packing and seal the connection hole against the threat of insectsor moisture.● Pass the wires through the knockout hole on the side cover when using conduit.● Perform the wiring work according to this manual and “Installation and Maintenance Manual” for theoutdoor unit.● Connect correctly the power supply line phases.● The communication cable between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit does not have any polarity.Do not apply an excessively high voltage to this cable (Rated Voltage 5V). It may cause failure.● The controller cable (Field-Supplied) does not have any polarity. Do not apply an excessively high voltageto this cable (Rated Voltage 5V). It may cause failure.● Maintain the rated voltage for the power supply.Voltage that is too high or too low can damage the unit.● Make sure there is sufficient capacity for the power supply. If not, operation cannot begin due to insufficientvoltage.NOTICE8. Electrical WiringPerform electrical wiring work according to this manual and the "Installation and Maintenance Manual" for theoutdoor unit.
