Thebuzzer is emitting a high-pitched beep. After the button is released, the meter isperforming the first compensating step, which means frequency measurementaway from the rock. During the frequency measurement the buzzer is givinga low-pitched beep and the three middle horizontal segments are displayed. Thefirst compensating step is approximately 2 seconds long. The buzzer goes silentwhen this step is finished and the number .0000 is displayed.The meter is now put near the rock and the operator presses the left buttonagain. The buzzer gives a high-pitched beep and when the operator releases thebutton, the meter is performing the pickup step, or measuring frequency nearthe rock. During the frequency measurement the buzzer is giving a low-pitchedbeep. The display shows -:1 which says that the measurement was first in theblock.The frequency measurement is as long as the first compensating step, that isapproximately 2 seconds. The buzzer goes silent when this step is finished andthe measured value is displayed. The same value would constitute the finalreading when measuring in the Basic mode. The operator now puts the meterelsewhere and measures frequency near the rock. -:2 is displayed.
