Dry thoroughly.Setting the temperatureThe temperature inside the refrigerator is regulatedby a thermostat with 6 temperature positions andone «OFF» (O) position.Position 1 = minimum coldnessPosition 6 = maximum coldnessTurn the thermostat dial to the required position. The intermediate position is usually the mostsuitable (3-4).The thermostat setting can vary as the temperatureinside the refrigeration compartment depends on thefollowing factors:– room temperature– how often the door is opened– how much food is stored– position of the applianceImportantDuring prolonged periods of abnormally hot weather,if the thermostat is set on too high a number, thecooling system may operate continuously and thefridge cooling plate may not defrost. Turning the knobto a lower number will cause the automaticdefrosting to resume.Storage of frozen foodWhen first starting-up or after a period of use, beforeputting the products in the freezer compartment letthe appliance run for at least two hours on thecoldest setting, then turn the thermostat knob to thenormal opertion position.Do not exceed the storage period indicated by themanufacturer. Finally, do not open the door frequently or leave itopen longer than is absolutely necessary.ImportantDo not put carbonated liquids, (fizzy drinks etc.), inthe freezer compartment.Ice Iollies, if consumed immediately after removalfrom the freezer, can cause low temperature skinburns.Do not remove items from the freezer if your handsare damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or“frost/freezer burns”.The freezer compartmentThe four-star freezer compartment is suitable forstorage of commercially frozen food and for freezingfresh foods.Freezing fresh foodTo freeze fresh foods it is necessary to change thesetting of the thermostat knob. However, for a quicker freezing operation, turn thethermostat knob to the coldest setting; but rememberthat, in this condition the refrigerator compartmenttemperature might drop below 0° C.If this occurs reset thermostat knob to a warmersetting. In any 24 hours you can freeze up to 3 kg. of freshfood.Place the food to be frozen on the shelf of thefreezer as this is the coldest part.ImportantIn the event of a power cut do not open the door. Thefood in the freezer will not be affected if the powercut is short and if the freezer is full. Should the foodbegin to thaw, it must be consumed quickly and mustnot be re-frozen.
