HINTS FOR STORAGE OF FROZEN FOODTo obtain the best performance from this appliance,you should:• make sure that the commercially frozenfoodstuffs were adequately stored by theretailer;• be sure that frozen foodstuffs are transferredfrom the foodstore to the freezer in the shortestpossible time;• not open the door frequently or leave it openlonger than absolutely necessary;• once defrosted, food deteriorates rapidly andcannot be refrozen;• do not exceed the storage period indicated bythe food manufacturer.CARE AND CLEANINGWARNING! When moving the cabinet,lift it by the front edge to avoidscratching the floor.The equipment has to be cleaned regularly:1. Clean the inside and accessories withlukewarm water and some neutral soap.2. Regularly check the door seals and wipe cleanto ensure they are clean and free from debris.3. Rinse and dry thoroughly.4. If accessible, clean the condenser and thecompressor at the back of the appliance with abrush.This operation will improve the performance ofthe appliance and save electricity consumption.DEFROSTING OF THE REFRIGERATORFrost is automatically eliminated from theevaporator of the refrigerator compartment everytime the motor compressor stops, during normaluse. The defrost water drains out through a troughinto a special container at the back of theappliance, over the motor compressor, where itevaporates.It is important to periodically clean the defrost waterdrain hole in the middle of the refrigeratorcompartment channel to prevent the wateroverflowing and dripping onto the food inside.DEFROSTING OF THE FREEZERCAUTION! Never use sharp metaltools to scrape off frost from theevaporator as you could damage it. Donot use a mechanical device or anyartificial means to speed up thethawing process other than thoserecommended by the manufacturer. Atemperature rise of the frozen foodpacks, during defrosting, may shortentheir safe storage life.About 12 hours prior to defrosting, seta lower temperature, in order to buildup sufficient chill reserve for theinterruption in operation.7
