Foodthat is frozen in this way will not stick together,enabling you to use only the amount required.Hints and Tips GBEnergy Saving Advice· Do not install the cabinet close to sources of heatsuch as a cooker, dishwasher or radiator.· Locate the appliance in a cool well ventilatedroom and make sure that the air openings of thecabinet are not obstructed.· Always leave warm food to cool down to roomtemperature before placing in the fridge.· Try to avoid keeping the door open for longperiods, or opening the door too frequently aswarm air will enter the cabinet, and cause thecompressor to switch on unnecessarily often.· Ensure there are no obstructions preventing thedoor from closing properly.· It is advisable to periodically clean therefrigeration system at the back of the appliancewith a duster or vacuum cleaner.· Avoid unnecessary frosting in the cabinet bypacking all foodstuffs into airtight packagesbefore placing them in the freezer.· Carefully follow the advice on freezing productsin the section "Use". Regularly check the doorseal to ensure that it is clean and free from debris.· Make sure the door gasket is complete andalways clean.Food Storage· Avoid buying frozen food if you can not store itstraight away. The use of an insulated container isadvisable. When you arrive home place thefrozen food in the freezer immerdiately.· Ensure that food placed in the freezer is datedand labelled and used in date order to ensure thatfood is consumed at its best.Remove suspect food from you refrigerator andclean, refer to cleaning and maintenance.· In the event of a power failure causing thetemperature within your freezer to rise, do notrefreeze the food without checking its condition.The following guidelines should assist you.Ice-cream: once thawed should be discarded.Fruits & Vegetables: if soft should be cooked andused up.Breads & Cakes: can be re-frozen without danger.Shellfish: should be refrigerated and used upquickly.Cooked Dishes: i.e. casseroles should berefrigerated and used upLarge Pieces of Meat: can be re-frozen providingthere are still ice crystals remaining within them.Small Joints: should be cooked and can then berefrozen as cooked dishes.Chicken: should also be cooked and re-frozen as acooked dish.Normal Operating Sounds· You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling soundswhen the refrigerant is pumped through the coilsor tubing at the rear, to the coolingplate/evaporator.· When the compressor is on, the refrigerant isbeing pumped round, and you will hear awhirring sound or pulsating noise from thecompressor.· A thermostat controls the compressor and youwill hear a faint " click" when the termostat cutsin and out.
