InstallationWARNING!Only a qualified person must installthis appliance.WARNING!Risk of injury or damage to theappliance.• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged appliance.• Follow the installation instruction suppliedwith the appliance.• Keep the minimum distance from the otherappliances and units.• Always take care when moving the applianceas it is heavy. Always use safety gloves andenclosed footwear.• Seal the cut surfaces with a sealant toprevent moisture to cause swelling.• Protect the bottom of the appliance fromsteam and moisture.• Do not install the appliance adjacent to adoor or under a window. This prevents hotcookware to fall from the appliance when thedoor or the window is opened.• If the appliance is installed above drawersmake sure that the space, between thebottom of the appliance and the upperdrawer, is sufficient for air circulation.• The underside of the appliance can get hotwhen in use. If an oven has not been fittedunderneath the hob and underside of theappliance is accessible and could allow auser or items stored beneath the hob tocome in direct contact with the underside ofthe hob, an intermediate protection panelmust be fitted.• Plywood or kitchen carcass material isacceptable for the panel.• The panel must be removable for servicing.Screws used to fix the panel must beaccessible after installation.Electrical ConnectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electrical shock.• All electrical connections should be made bya qualified electrician.• The appliance must be earthed.• Before carrying out any operation make surethat the appliance is disconnected from thepower supply.• Make sure that the electrical information onthe rating plate agrees with the powersupply. If not, contact an electrician.• Make sure the appliance is installedcorrectly. Loose and incorrect electricitymains cable or plug (if applicable) can makethe terminal become too hot.• Use the correct electricity mains cable.• Do not let the electricity mains cable tangle.• Make sure that a shock protection isinstalled.• Use the strain relief clamp on the cable.• Make sure the mains cable or plug (ifapplicable) does not touch the hot applianceor hot cookware, when you connect theappliance to the near sockets• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.• Make sure not to cause damage to themains plug (if applicable) or to the mainscable. Contact our Authorised ServiceCentre or an electrician to change adamaged mains cable.• The shock protection of live and insulatedparts must be fastened in such a way that itcannot be removed without tools.• Connect the mains plug to the mains socketonly at the end of the installation. Make surethat there is access to the mains plug afterthe installation.• If the mains socket is loose, do not connectthe mains plug.• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnectthe appliance. Always pull the mains plug.• Use only correct isolation devices: lineprotecting cut-outs, fuses (screw type fusesremoved from the holder), earth leakage tripsand contactors.• The electrical installation must have anisolation device which lets you disconnectthe appliance from the mains at all poles.The isolation device must have a contactopening width of minimum 3 mm.Gas connection• All gas connections should be made by aqualified person.• Before installation, make sure that the localdistribution conditions (nature of the gas andgas pressure) and the adjustment of theappliance are compatible.• Make sure that there is air circulation aroundthe appliance.• The information about the gas supply is onthe rating plate.4 www.zanussi.com |
