Environment ProtectionThis appliance does not contain gasses whichcould damage the ozone layer, in either its refrig-erant circuit or insulation materials. The appliance shallnot be discarded together with the urban refuse and rub-bish. The insulation foam contains flammable gases:the appliance shall be disposed according to the appli-cable regulations to obtain from your local authorities.Avoid damaging the cooling unit, especially at the rearnear the heat exchanger. The materials used on this ap-pliance marked by the symbol are recyclable.OperationSwitching onInsert the plug into the wall socket.Turn the Temperature regulator clockwise to a mediumsetting.Switching offTo turn off the appliance, turn the Temperature regulatorto the "O" position.Temperature regulationThe temperature is automatically regulated.To operate the appliance, proceed as follows:• turn the Temperature regulator toward lower settingsto obtain the minimum coldness.• turn the Temperature regulator toward higher set-tings to obtain the maximum coldness.A medium setting is generally the most suitable.Daily useFreezing fresh foodThe freezer compartment is suitable for freezing freshfood and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for a longtime.To freeze fresh foods it is not necessary to change themedium setting.However, for a faster freezing operation, turn the temper-ature regulator toward higher settings to obtain the max-imum coldness.Important! In this condition, the refrigeratorcompartment temperature might drop below 0°C. If thisoccurs reset the temperature regulator to a warmer setting.Storage of frozen foodWhen first starting-up or after a period out of use, be-fore putting the products in the compartment let the ap-pliance run at least 2 hours on the higher settings.Important! In the event of accidental defrosting, forexample due to a power failure, if the power has beenoff for longer than the value shown in the technicalcharacteristics chart under "rising time", the defrostedfood must be consumed quickly or cooked immediatelyand then re-frozen (after cooling).ThawingDeep-frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can bethawed in the refrigerator compartment or at room tem-perature, depending on the time available for this opera-tion.Small pieces may even be cooked still frozen, directlyfrom the freezer: in this case, cooking will take longer.Care and cleaningCaution! Unplug the appliance before carryingout any maintenance operation.This appliance contains hydrocarbons in its cool-ing unit; maintenance and recharging must there-fore only be carried out by authorized technicians.Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaners contain chem-icals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this ap-pliance. For this reason it is recommended that the out-er casing of this appliance is only cleaned with warm wa-ter with a little washing-up liquid added.12
