12Owner’s manual4.0 Please familiarise with the functions of your A2B before yourfirst rideIf you still have any questions after having read this section, please ask your A2B specialist dealer before your first ride to explainany unclear functions or features to you.4.1 A2B at a glanceAs soon as you start to pedal when the drive system is enabled,you will realise that the motor will start and assist you based onthe adjusted level of assistance - making riding a bike an effortlesspleasure.4.2 Starting and stopping1. Put your helmet on and look for a calm place without anyobstacles, cars or other hazards, if possible.2. Ensure that the battery has been charged and connectedcorrectly3. Activate the drive system by pressing thecontroller's middle button next to the lefthandlebar grip.4. Fold up the stand into the driving position.Do NOT sit on the A2B if it is stillsupported by the stand. By doing so, youdamage the stand and possibly the frame.5. Sit on the A2B and find a pleasant sittingposition.6. Start to pedal and start the motor assistance in this way.7. Test the brakes at low speed. The left brake lever actuates thefront wheel brake, the right brake lever actuates the rear wheelbrake in most EU countries (break activation is the opposite ofstated). When pulling the brake levers too much, a wheel may belocked which could make you lose the control over the bicycleand fall. Remember that both brake levers include a motorswitch-off device; as soon as you operate one of the two brakelevers, the motor's power supply will be switched off. So do notbrake if the engine is to run.Remember that both brake levers include a motor switch-offdevice.
