It can beused in retrofit applications of interfacing a two orthree stage thermostat to an SCR heater. It willconvert 24VAC staged signals to a proportionalanalog output. The 6N1-ISO-STG offers twodifferent modes. The first mode will check inputssequentially high(#6) to low(#1), to set outputpercentage. The output percentage is based onhighest input pressed, and ignores others. Theother mode will check the total number of inputs,to set an output percentage. The outputpercentage is based on total number of activeinputs.Input ranges are jumper selectable and all modesand analog outputs are DIP switch selectable. Theoutput signal is optically isolated from the inputsignals. The power output terminal can be used forpower if the inputs are only contact closures.MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONSThe interface device can be mounted in any position. If circuit board slides out of snap track, anon-conductive “stop” may be required. Use only fingers to remove board from snap track. Slide out ofsnap track or push up against side of snap track and lift that side of the circuit board to remove. Do notflex board or use tools.WIRING INSTRUCTIONSPRECAUTIONS• 6N1-ISO-STG is powered by 24 VAC only.• Remove power before wiring. Never connect or disconnect wiring with power applied.• When using a shielded cable, ground the shield only at the controller end. Grounding bothends can cause a ground loop.• This device needs to have its own Isolated Transformer. This transformer cannot beconnected/or shared with any other device. It is recommended you use an isolated UL-listed class2 transformer.• All wiring must comply with all local and National Electric Codes.Note: ACI recommends to remove the pluggable terminal blocks to terminate wires first. The terminalblocks can be removed using pliers. Once wired, rotate the terminal block 90 Degrees so they are facingupward, and insert onto pins. This eliminates any wires getting pinched by the snaptrack. See Figure 4 (p.3).4.00”(101.6mm)4.60” (116.84mm)4.00”(101.60mm)3.88” (98.55mm)0.70”(17.78mm)
