The DRN4 output is 0 to 135 ohms. The inputsignal types are field selectable by an 8-position DIPswitch. The floating point input accepts two digitalsignals, one for increase and the other for decrease. The floating point full scale rate of change is 55seconds. Some triac input signals require anaccessory. The DRN4 is supplied in an enclosure thatcan be directly mounted to a 1/2 inch knockout onthe motor actuator. Color coded wire leads withspade connectors are provided for electricalconnections. Some triac inputs require a Triacadapter kit. Johnson Control triac input signalrequires a 1,000 ohm 1/2 watt resistor and is includedwith all DRN4s.MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONSTools needed may include a Phillips screwdriver toremove actuator cover screws, 3 wire nuts for twosignal and one common wire connections and avoltmeter for troubleshooting if necessary. Turn offpower to the actuator and remove the actuatorcover. Remove a knock-out on the actuator near theactuator control terminals. Open the access cover onthe DRN4 and set the switches to the desired modeof operation. Replace the switch access cover on theDRN4 and remove the outermost lock-nut from theDRN4 box connector fitting. Feed the DRN4 wiresthrough the actuator knock-out and the lock-nut.Tighten the lock-nut onto the DRN4 fitting. Connectthe DRN4 leads with spade connectors to the correctactuator terminals, the external control source andthe power source. Wire nut any unused wire andreplace the actuator cover.WIRING INSTRUCTIONSPRECAUTIONS• Remove power before wiring. Never connector disconnect wiring with power applied.• When using a shielded cable, ground theshield only at the controller end. Groundingboth ends can cause a ground loop.• It is recommended you use an isolated3.80”(96.47mm)2.40” (60.91mm)1.00”(25.40mm)FRONT RightTopDRN4 CONNECTEDTO ACTUATOR USING1/2" LOCKNUTSACTUATOR
