(1.83 m} flexible Tubing (included}(3) Headgear (for the mask)WARNING!Ifmultiple persons are going to use the RESmart®CPAP and Auto-CPAP(e.g., rental devices), a low-resistance, main flow bacteria filtershould be installed in-line between the RESmart®CPAP and Auto-CPAP and the circuit tubing. Pressures must be verified by yourhome healthcare provider when alternate or optional accessoriesare in place.a. Connect the flexible tubing to the air outlet on the front of theRESmart® CPAP and Auto-CPAP.b. If you are using a mask with a built-in exhalation port, connectthe mask's connector to the flexible tubing.If you are using a mask with a separate exhalation port, connectthe flexible tubing to the exhalation port. Position the exhalationport so that the vented air is blowing away from your face.Connect the mask's connector to the exhalation port.WARNING!Do not block or otherwise try to seal the air openings (vent holes}on the exhalation port.Explanation of the warning: The RESmart®CPAP and Auto-CPAP isintended to be used with masks and circuits that have anexhalation port designed to exhaust C02 from the circuit. When theRESmart® CPAP and Auto-CPAP is turned on and functioningproperly, new air from the RESmart® CPAP and Auto-CPAP flushes theexhaled air out through the exhalation port. When the RESmart® CPAPand Auto-CPAP is turned off, enough fresh air will not be providedthrough the mask, and exhaled air may be rebreathed.Rebreathing of exhaled air for longer than several minutes can, insome circumstances, lead to suffocation. This warning applies tomost CPAP devices.
