A list of alternative device sets appears.4 Select the device set to which you want to move the EFW devices, and click OK.The EFW devices are moved to the new device set.Monitoring EFW StatusThe status windows provide convenient access for you to monitor the status and correctany displayed problems in the EFW system. You can check the overall status of yoursystem using the EFW Management Console.Monitoring Policy Server StatusYou can view the status of the Policy Servers using the Management Console. The statusappears in the Policy Server window and indicates whether any Policy Servers have beendetected as operating improperly. The status also highlights any Policy Servers that are outof synchronization. For example, if an administrator updates a policy on Policy Server A,but an intermittent network connection prevents Policy Server B from being informed, another administrator could concurrently update the same policy on Policy Server B.When the intermittent network problem is resolved, the Policy Servers are out ofsynchronization, since they have different data for the same policy. The Policy Server status appears in one of the following states:Synchronizing Policy Servers ManuallyUnder certain conditions, such as network disruptions, the Policy Server displays an Out ofSynchronization status. This status generally indicates that the Policy Server to which youare connected may have different database information for replicated items than thePolicy Server shown in the status. In most cases, the system recovers on its own, but theremay be cases where manual synchronization is required. If you know of network disruptions in the communication between two Policy Servers inthe same EFW domain, avoid making changes to data on both Policy Servers during thistime period. Making changes may create the need for manual synchronization.Status State The Policy ServerWorking Normally Is functioning normally. Not Responding To which you are connected could not contact this Policy Server.Out of Synchronization Does not have the same data as the Policy Server to which you areconnected. (See “Synchronizing Policy Servers Manually” below.)CAUTION: If Policy Servers are out of synchronization, replication of data betweenPolicy Servers no longer takes place until they are brought back into synchronization.
