Make sure the cable line issecurely connected to the cable jack on the back of themodem. Verify that the RJ-45 cable is securely pluggedinto both the modem and your network interface card.Make sure your power supply is properly plugged intoboth the modem and a wall outlet or surge protector. Ifyour cable modem is properly connected, the "CableModem Power", "Cable Modem Status", and "PC LinkStatus" indicator lights on the front of the modemshould all be a solid color.n Power cycle your cable modem by removing the poweradapter from its outlet and then plugging it back intothe outlet. Then try reconnecting to your BroadbandService Provider (BSP).n Call your cable service provider to verify that theirservice is two-way. This modem is designed for use withtwo-way cable plants.n Your network interface card or USB network interfacemay be malfunctioning. Refer to its documentation fortroubleshooting information.n Make sure that TCP/IP is the default protocol in use byyour system. See the section entitled "Configuring theTCP/IP Protocol" for more information.n If you are using a cable line splitter so that you canconnect the cable modem and a television at the sametime, try removing the splitter and reconnecting yourcables so that your cable modem is connected directlyto your cable wall jack. Then try reconnecting to yourBSP.
