Unit Pages 4-15Console Port ConfigurationThis page configures the console port.The switch’s console port is already correctlyconfigured by default, for direct connection to amanagement station. Only alter these default settingsif you are connecting a modem to the console port.If you want to change the settings but are unsure ofthe correct settings to use, refer to the userdocumentation that accompanies your managementstation or modem.CAUTION: Do not change any of these settingsunless you fully understand what you are doing.Incorrect settings may lock you out from the switch’sconsole port when you select Apply, and you mayhave to contact your supplier for information onrecovering management communication if youcannot access the switch over the network.The fields are:Console connection Terminal / ModemSpecifies what you are connecting directly to theconsole port. If you are connecting to a modem,select Modem, otherwise leave as Terminal(management station).Port Speed 1200 / 2400 / 4800 / 9600 / 19200 /AutoConfigSpecifies the baud rate of your management stationor modem. The switch can automatically configure itsbaud rate to work with your management station ormodem. Leave this field as AutoConfig if you requireauto-configuration.Flow Control None / Xon/Xoff / Hardware RTS/CTSSpecifies the flow control option that corresponds toyour management station or modem.
