Appendix C – IEC InstallationACS/ACC/ACP 604/607 DrivesACx=ACS/ACC/ACPC-9b. If the outer surface of the screen is covered with non-conductive material (figure below)- Cut the screen in the middle of the bare part. Be careful not tocut the conductors.- Turn the conductive surface of the screen visible.- Cover the turned screen and the stripped cable with copper foilto keep the shielding continuous.Note: The earthing wire (ifpresent) must not be cut.- Push the two parts of thelead-through plate together such thattheEMI conductive cushions press tightly round the screen.5. Lock the two parts of thelead-through plate by tightening theposition screws.6. Connect the control cables in appropriate terminal to NIOC/NIOCPboard (or optional terminal block X2/2TB, or other options on theDIN rail). Refer toAppendix A andFirmware Manual. Tightenscrew to secure connection. Connect the twisted screen (as shortas possible) to the earthing rail of the terminal.7. Close the cabinet door if no other cables are to be connected.ComponentsConnected to Digital/Analogue InputsWARNING! IEC 664 requires double or reinforced insulation betweenlive parts and the surface of accessible parts of electrical equipmentwhich are either non-conductive or conductive but not connected to theground (PE).To fulfil this requirement, the connection of a thermistor (and othersimilar components) to the digital inputs of ACx 600 can beimplemented in three alternate ways:Cable screen Screened twisted pairEarthing wireCopper foilStripped cable Conductive surface ofthe screen turned visibleStripped part coveredwith copper foil
