274 ACS550-02/U2 User’s ManualDiagnosticsThe message reappears after a few seconds if the control panel is not touched andthe fault is still active.Flashing green – AlarmsFor less severe errors, called alarms, the diagnostic display is advisory. For thesesituations, the drive is simply reporting that it had detected something “unusual.” Inthese situations, the drive:• flashes the green LED on the drive (does not apply to alarms that arise fromcontrol panel operation errors)• flashes the green LED on the control panel (if attached to the drive)• sets an appropriate bit in an Alarm Word parameter (0308 or 0309). See Group03: FB ACTUAL SIGNALS on page 134 for the bit definitions• overrides the control panel display with the displayof an alarm code and/or name in the Fault mode(figures on the right).Alarm messages disappear from the control paneldisplay after a few seconds. The message returnsperiodically as long as the alarm condition exists.Correcting faultsThe recommended corrective action for faults is:• Use the table in section Fault listing below to find and address the root cause ofthe problem.• Reset the drive. See section Fault resetting on page 279.Fault listingThe following table lists the faults by code number and describes each. The faultname is the long form shown in the Fault mode of the Assistant Control Panel whenthe fault occurs.
