RMBA-01 User’s manual iiiSafety instructionsOverview This chapter states the general safety instructions thatmust be followed when installing and operating theRMBA-01 Modbus Adapter module. The material in this chapter must be studied beforeattempting any work on, or with, the unit.In addition to the safety instructions given below, readthe complete safety instructions of the specific drive youare working on.General safetyinstructionsWARNING! All electrical installation and maintenancework on the drive should be carried out by qualifiedelectricians only. The drive and adjoining equipment must be properlyearthed.Do not attempt any work on a powered drive. Afterswitching off the mains, always allow the intermediatecircuit capacitors 5 minutes to discharge before workingon the frequency converter, the motor or the motorcable. It is good practice to check (with a voltageindicating instrument) that the drive is in fact dischargedbefore beginning work. The motor cable terminals of the drive are at adangerously high voltage when mains power is applied, regardless of motor operation. There can be dangerous voltages inside the drive fromexternal control circuits even when the drive mainspower is shut off. Exercise appropriate care whenworking on the unit. Neglecting these instructions cancause physical injury or death.Phone: 800.894.0412 - Fax: 888.723.4773 - Web: www.clrwtr.com - Email: info@clrwtr.com
