When the finalconstruction documents are compiled, thebinding data supplied by ABB Xiamen SwitchgearCo., Ltd. must always be taken into account! The stipulations of DIN 43 661 are also to becomplied with when the foundation is laid. This particularly applies to the evenness andstraightness tolerances as a precondition forperfect installation of the switchgear. The foundation frame, consisting of one or moreparts depending on the size of the switchgear, can be supplied with the switchgear by ABBXiamen Switchgear Co., Ltd.; it is usually laidby site personnel and should if possible bealigned and inspected under the supervisionof a ABB specialist.Installation of the foundation frame• If the foundation frame consists of severalpart, bolt these together at the preparedjoint locations using links in the specifiedsequence and so as to achieve a level surface• Place the foundation frame precisely in thespecified position on the concrete floor inaccordance with the installation drawing• Enter jacking screws and place steel stripsbelow them• Carefully align the foundation frame alongthe entire surface and to the correct heightby screwing the jacking screws down by anappro-priate amount and using a levellinginstrumentThe top edge of the foundation frame shouldbe 5-12 mm above the finished floor surface. This facilitates erection and alignment of theswitchgear panels.e.g. evenness tolerance:±1 mm within a measuring length of 1 m.e.g. straightness tolerance:maximum 1 mm per m, but not more than 2mm over the entire length of the frame.• Slide brackets against the frame at two pointsfor each 3 m of frame length, secure them tothe concrete floor with plugs and bolts, andweld them to the frame. The set position ofthe frame on the concrete floor must not bealtered during this operation• Weld the foundation frame parts together.Grind projecting parts and weld seams on thetop of the frame flat• Make the necessary preparations for perfectearthing of the foundation frame with 30x4mm galvanized steel strip. Two connectionsare necessary for long switchgears• When the floor topping is applied, carefullyback fill the foundation frame, leaving no gaps• The foundation frame must not be subjectedto any injurious impacts or pressures, particularly during the installation phaseIf these conditions are not fulfilled, problemsduring assembly of the switchgear and possiblywith movement of the withdrawable parts andopening and closing of the doors cannot beruled out.
