ABB i-bus® KNXPlanning and application240 2CDC508134D0202 | FCA/S 1.x.x.14.1.1.1 Fan with changeover switchFans are usually controlled with a changeover switch. The following control table results for a three-stage fan, which simulates the device with a group of switchoutputs:Terminal 8 Terminal 9 Terminal 10OFF 0 0 0Fan speed 1 1 0 0Fan speed 2 0 1 0Fan speed 3 0 0 14.1.1.2 Fan with step switchIn some cases, the fan is controlled via a step switch. The following control table results for a three-stagefan, which simulates the device with its outputs:Terminal 8 Terminal 9 Terminal 10OFF 0 0 0Fan speed 1 1 0 0Fan speed 2 1 1 0Fan speed 3 1 1 1The step switch cannot be switched on rapidly. If, for example, fan speed 3 is to be switched on from theOFF state, fan speeds 1 and 2 must be controlled with the associated dwell times first.4.1.2 Automatic operationWith automatic fan control a fan drive is connected directly to the device and switched via three floatingcontacts. A single-speed, two-speed or three-speed fan can be connected. The fan speed is set automatically depending on the control value. For example, the following controlvalue ranges can be programmed for the corresponding fan speeds:Actuating value Fan speed0…9 % 0 (fan off)10…39 % 140…69 % 270…100 % 3ImportantThe device is purely an actuator, which does not have a controller for a room temperature controller(thermostat).
