Testing Procedures! WARNINGTo avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury or death; disconnect power to oven and discharge capacitorbefore servicing, unless testing requires power.16400007 Rev.0 ©2010 ACP, Inc.16Illustration Component Testing ResultsThermal cutout Disconnect all wires from TCO.Measure resistance across terminals.Cavity TCO .............................................Magnetron TCO ......................................Closed at 32°F (0°C) andOpens at 230°F (110°C)Closed at 140°F (60°C) andOpens at 320°F (160°C)Diode Discharge CapacitorRemove diode lead from capacitor andconnect ohmmeter.Reverse leads for second test.Infinite resistance should bemeasured in one direction and 50KΩor more in the opposite direction.NOTE: Ohmmeter must contain abattery of 6 volts minimum.Capacitor Discharge CapacitorRemove wires from capacitor terminalsand connect ohmmeter, set on highestresistance scale to terminals. Also check between each terminal andcapacitor case.Between Terminals: Meter shouldmomentarily deflect towards zerothen return to over 5 MΩ. If nodeflection occurs, or if continuousdeflection occurs, replace capacitor.Terminal to Case: Infinite resistanceMagnetron Discharge CapacitorRemove wires from magnetron andconnect ohmmeter to terminals. Alsocheck between each terminal andground.Between Terminals: Less than 1 ΩEach terminal to ground measuresInfinite resistance.Note: This test is not conclusive. Ifoven does not heat and all othercomponents test good replace themagnetron and retest.Blower motor Remove all wires from motor.Measure resistance across coil .............. Approximately 28 – 35 ΩStirrer motor Remove all wires from motor.Measure resistance across terminals ..... Between Terminals: Less than 1 Ω
