4 Section 61109403L2-5, Issue 3 61109.403L2-5CWhen the option BOTH is selected, tone is placed onboth the loop and the network.Accessing Tests Through EASYMENUOnce the unit is in normal operation, these test featuresare accessed by selecting:Channel Unit Menus (3)Desired slot(1-24)Test (4)These tests are service affecting.Faceplate IndicatorsThe 2FXS/DPO faceplate indicators and descriptionsare explained in Table F.Table E. 2FXS/DPO Faceplate IndicatorsThe 2FXS/DPO PM has four faceplate indicators and adepressed provisioning switch. The front panel PM(Performance Monitoring) indicatorFlashes duringcontrol link establishment and remainsON after thechannel unit has been remotely provisioned. If the channel unit has been remotely provisioned, theoperator can alternate between the remote configurationdata stored in nonvolatile memory or manual switchsettings by pressing the momentary AP (AlternateProvisioning) switch located on the front panel. The REM indicator remainsON when the channel unit isoperating based on Remote Provisioning, and isOFFwhen based on manual switches. If the channel unit hasnever been remotely provisioned, the AP switch has noeffect and the REM indicator remainsOFF . The REMLEDFlashes when an invalid operation mode is selected.IndicatorREMOffGreenFlashingUnit is manually provisioned.Unit is remotely provisioned.Configuration/provisioning error.BUSYOffGreenNetwork and Loop On-hook.Network, Loop, or both are Off-hook.PMOffGreenPM mode is not operating.PM mode is operating.TESTOffYellowAll tests are inactive.Test is active.Indication DescriptionSwitchAP DepressedAlternate provisioning switch.Changes provisioning sourcefrom manual to remote or remoteto manual.Selection Description2FXS/DPO1109403L2PMAPREMPMTESTBUSY3. CONNECTIONSThe 2FXS/DPO PM occupies one card position in the D4channel bank. The connector pin assignments aredetailed in Figure 3.4. TESTINGThe 2FXS/DPO performsa self test after power on.During this time all fourindicators turnOn in apredefined sequencewhile the 2FXS/DPOverifies proper operationof critical circuits in thedesign. After successfulcompletion of the self test, all indicators function intheir normal mode.Digital Loopback TestThe Digital Loopback Testis used to test loopbackdata coming from thenetwork. Received data,or RNPCM, is latched induring the appropriatereceive time slot. Thisdata is then placed on theTDATA bus during theunit's transmit time slot.Network On-hook/Off-hook TestThe Network On-hook/Off-hook test is used to testsignaling sent to the network by the unit. When On-hookTest is selected, On-hook signaling is sent to the network. When Off-hook Test is selected, Off-hook signaling issent to the Network. The customer loop is forced On-hook while this test is active.Customer Ringing TestThe Customer Ringing Test will activate the unit's ringrelay in a 2-on/4-off ring cadence, providing ringing tothe customer loop when a ring generator is properlyconnected to the channel bank.1004 Hz DRS Tone Generation TestThe 1004 Hz DRS (Digital Reference Signal) ToneGeneration test is used to send the DRS signal to thenetwork, loop, or both. When Network is selected, theDRS is sent to the network from the unit. The far end unitshould measure a 1004 Hz tone at a level determined bythe circuit gain of the far end unit. When Loop isselected, the DRS is placed on the receive path. Theloop receive level is determined by the following equation:Receive Level = 0dB - AttenuationFigure 3.
