It providesa single ADSL network interface and fourauto-sensing 10/100Base-T Ethernetinterfaces. The NetVanta 3130 can also bepre-configured with a built-in analog modemfor dial backup or remote management. Thisproduct is ideal for carrier-bundled serviceofferings and enterprise-level Internet accessfor secure, high-speed corporate connectivity. In addition to supporting ADSL (Annex A),and ADSL2, the NetVanta 3130 supportstoday’s most advanced ADSL technology,ADSL2+, for applications taking advantageof its greater reach and higher bandwidth,up to 25 Mbps.Standards ProtocolsThis versatile hardware platform is furthercomplemented by the AOS. The AOS allowsfor support of standards-based switching,VLAN tagging, static and default routes, anddemand routing for fast, accurate networkconvergence using routing protocols such asBGP, OSPF, and RIP.Quality of Service (QoS)QoS is also supported for delay-sensitivetraffic like VoIP or video. To prioritize mission-critical traffic and control network congestion, the NetVanta 3130 uses Low Latency Queuing,Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ), Class-basedWFQ, and DiffServ marking to establish thepriority of IP packets routed over the WAN.VoIP ReadyIn combination with the QoS features, aspecialized SIP ALG allows SIP traffic totraverse NAT-enabled firewalls. For enterprisenetworks, this interoperability allows IP PBXs,phones, and other SIP-based devices to setup, tear down, and pass voice and call controlmessages seamlessly through the integralNAT-enabled firewall. The NetVanta 3130 also deploys VQM tocapture MOS, jitter, delay, and packet lossstatistics necessary to troubleshoot VoIP callsover the WAN. This powerful, yet graphicallyintuitive, diagnostic tool allows for quickisolation of network issues to ensuresuperior call quality.SecurityThe AOS provides a powerful, high-perfor-mance stateful inspection firewall. It examinesall incoming and outgoing packets againstthe security policies established by the ITmanager. In addition, the firewall can iden-tify and protect against common Denial ofService (DoS) attacks like TCP syn flooding,IP spoofing, ICMP redirect, ping of death, and IP reassembly problems. In addition, the AOS is capable of providingan inherent URL-filtering package withoutthe use of an external server. URL filtering isanother level of security that allows systemadministrators to restrict Internet access bypermitting or denying specific URLs. ThisURL-filtering feature also includes the abilityto produce top website reports of the mostfrequently requested websites, allowing systemadministrators to modify the URL filter lists. The NetVanta 3130 also supports up to fivesimultaneous IPSec VPN tunnels and encryp-tion algorithms like DES, 3DES, and AES. Bysupporting IPSec, the NetVanta 3130 is fullycompatible with other IPSec VPN-equippedNetVanta products.AdministrationThe AOS offers an intuitive Web-based GUIthat provides step-by-step configurationwizards, management capability, and theability to upload firmware updates. Inaddition, it has a standard CLI that mimicsthe widely adopted, industry de factostandard. The sequence of commandsrequired to configure similar devices isalmost identical, eliminating trainingcosts typically associated with learninga new operating system or obtaining costlyindustry certifications. The CLI also allowsfor configuration scripts to be used, saved, and downloaded as a quick-and-easyrecovery mechanism.NetVanta 3130Fixed-port ADSL Access Router with Four-port SwitchSmart Solutions for aConnected World. |
