9Ceramic hobThe ceramic hob has four cookingzones. When a cooking zone isswitched on, its glow will turn onand off at different intervals,depending on the chosen heatsetting. Even at the highest settingthe cooking zone will switch offfrom time to time, to prevent thehob from overheating.The ceramic material is tough andhardened against heat, cold andtemperature shocks, but like allglass-based materials, it is sensitiveto impact. Do not stand on theceramic hob as it is unable towithstand abnormal strains.Cooking zonesThe two rear cooking zones aresingle zones. The two frontcooking zones are double zones.CHEC controlInformation on how to use CHECis given in the section “How touse”. CHEC control is the name ofthe electronic control systemgoverning the cooking zones.CHEC control gives you accurateheat adjustment, so you do not needto turn the heat up or down. CHECprovides the cooking zones with thefollowing functions:Automatic cut-out of “forgotten”cooking zones.QUICKSTART on all heat settings.Activation of the large zone on thedouble cooking zonesChild safety mechanism for thecooking zones.Residual heat indicatorWhen you turn off a cooking zone,an “H” will appear on the display toindicate that the zone is still hot.The residual heat indicator will staylit until the cooking zone reachesaround 80˚C.Cooling fanThe cooker has a cooling fan tokeep the temperature down onsurfaces and electronics. When thecooker is in use, the thermostat-activated cooling fan switches onwhenever the temperature risesabove a certain point. The fan maytherefore continue to operate afterthe cooker has been turned off.
