Use high quality frying oil orfrying grease. Do not use margarine, olive oil or but-ter: they are not fit for frying, because they start tosmoke already at low temperatures.• We recommend the use of liquid frying oil. NOTE…… if you would like to use fat!• If you use fat, please divide it up into small pieces.• Turn the thermostat to a low temperature and addthe pieces slowly.• Once the fat has melted and the correct oil level isreached you can set the desired temperature on thethermostat.• Rub dry humid foods with a cloth before frying.Mains LeadUnwind the required length of mains lead from the bot-tom section or the heating base.Rotating BaseFold out the individualholders so that they arehorizontal. The rounddistance pieces facedownwards and subse-quently lie on the heatingstand. Clamp one of the„lugs“ (see illustration) onto one side of the rotating base first under the mainbase. Then pull the ring over the hot plate and clamp itunderneath. After use you can save space when you store the rotatingbasis by folding the holders back inwards.Initial Operation of the Fondue SetPlease select a suitable non-slip base on which to placeyour fondue.• Insert the rotating base as described above. Theninsert the sauce vessels into the holders.• Place the fondue equipment on the heating stand.• Fill the pot with fat or oil (min. 0.5 l to max. 1.0 l).The most suitable types of oil are frying oils or veg-etable oil. The control lamplights up and indicates that the device is switched on.• With a wooden stick (e.g. shashlik spit or woodencooking spoon) you can test whether the correcttemperature has been reached. When this is insertedinto the oil, small air bubbles should rise up along thewooden stick. Alternatively, you can place a piece ofthe food to be fried into the hot oil.• Place the pieces of meat on the fondue forks andthen dip them into the oil. Depending on the size ofthe meat pieces, the cooking process takes between 4and 7 minutes, i.e. the smaller the pieces of meat orother food are, the faster they are cooked.• Adjust the temperature with the regulator such thatthe oil simmers.Switching OffIf you would like to stop the cooking process, turn thetemperature control to the minimum setting (MIN) andremove the mains plug from the socket.
