4.4 OptiHeat Control (3 stepResidual heat indicator)WARNING!/ / There is a risk ofburns from residual heat.The indicators show the level of the residualheat for the cooking zones you are currentlyusing. The indicators may also come on forthe neighbouring cooking zones even if youare not using them.5. DAILY USEWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.5.1 Activating and deactivatingTouch for 1 second to activate ordeactivate the hob.5.2 Automatic Switch OffThe function deactivates the hobautomatically if:• all cooking zones are deactivated,• you do not set the heat setting after youactivate the hob,• you spill something or put something onthe control panel for more than 10seconds (a pan, a cloth, etc.). An acousticsignal sounds and the hob deactivates.Remove the object or clean the controlpanel.• you do not deactivate a cooking zone orchange the heat setting. After some timecomes on and the hob deactivates.The relation between the heat setting andthe time after which the hob deactivates:Heat setting The hob deactivatesafter, 1 - 3 6 hours4 - 7 5 hours8 - 9 4 hours10 - 14 1.5 hour5.3 The heat settingTo set or change the heat setting:Touch the control bar at the correct heatsetting or move your finger along the controlbar until you reach the correct heat setting.5.4 Activating and deactivating theouter ringsYou can adjust the surface you cook to thedimension of the cookware.Use sensor field:To activate the outer ring: touch the sensorfield. The indicator comes on.To activate more outer rings: touch thesame sensor field again. The subsequentindicator comes on.To deactivate the outer ring: touch thesensor field until the indicator goes out.When you activate the zone butdo not activate the outer ring thelight that comes out from thezone may cover the outer ring. Itdoes not mean that the outerring is activated. To see if thering is activated check theindicator.5.5 Automatic Heat UpActivate this function to get a desired heatsetting in a shorter time.
