System Overview31Aastra 470 as of R1.2syd-0337/1.2 – R1.2 – 11.20112. 6. 2. 4 ISDN interfaceAastra 400 supports the ISDN protocols ETSI, DSS1 and QSIG. Besides the possibilityof networking various systems into a PISN (Private Integrated Services Network) viathe ISDN interface, these protocols also provide various functions that can be usedfor connecting external applications (e. g. IVR systems, fax server, voice mail sys-tems, unified messaging systems, DECT radio systems).2. 6. 2. 5 ConfigurationThe Aastra 400 communication servers are configured using the AMS application, which can communicate with the communication servers via different interfaces (Ether-net, ISDN). A proprietary protocol is used for this purpose. With the Open InterfacesPlatform the configuration interface is accessible for application manufacturers. Theweb-based configuration tool WebAdmin is also available for single systems.2. 6. 2. 6 System monitoringThe system status is monitored using the SEM (System Event Manager) application, which is included in AMS. The application gathers and outputs the system mes-sages and alarms. The system messages and alarms are also accessible via theOpen Interfaces Platform.2. 6. 2. 7 Call loggingThe Call Logging Manager includes data acquisition for incoming traffic (ICL), outgoingtraffic (OCL) and the counting of the acquired call charges according to a variety of cri-teria. The data can be retrieved via different interfaces and subsequently processed.2. 6. 2. 8 Hotel Management SystemsA PC can be connected via Ethernet to run functions in Aastra 400 using commandlanguage. A special command set is available for communicating with hotel man-agement systems. These commands can then be used to carry out user-specificpolling operations (e.g. room status) and configurations (e.g. wake-up time).2. 6. 2. 9 Voice over IPAastra 400 provides gateways for implementing Voice over IP. Besides the possibil-ity of networking systems via IP, IP system phones and SIP phones can also be oper-ated on Aastra 400 via the Ethernet interface.
