CD LOADING/EJECTIONTo load the CD, insert it gently into the slot to activatethe motorised loading system, which will position itcorrectly.The CD can be loaded with radio off and the ignition keyturned to MAR: in this case the radio will remain off.When the radio is turned on, the last source listened tobefore being switched off will be activated.When a CD is inserted the display will show the symbol“CD-IN” and the text “CD Reading”. They will remaindisplayed for the whole time required for the radio toread the CD. When this time has elapsed the radioautomatically starts playing the first track.Press the ˚ button (EJECT) with the radio on to activatethe motorised ejection of the CD. After ejection, the lastaudio source listened to before playing the CD will beheard.If the CD is not removed from the radio, it willautomatically be reloaded about 20 seconds later and theTuner mode will be tuned into (Radio).The CD cannot be ejected if the radio is off.If the ejected CD is reloaded without having removed itcompletely from the slot, the radio will not switch to theCD source.RADIO249Possible error messagesIf the loaded CD cannot be read (e.g. a CD ROM hasbeen inserted or the CD is inserted the wrong wayround or there is reading error) the display shows thetext “CD Disc error”.The CD will then be ejected and the audio sourceactivated before the CD mode selection will be heard.With external audio source on (“TA”, “ALARM” and“Phone”) the CD which cannot be read will not beejected until these functions are terminated. At the end,with the CD mode activated, the display will show thetext “CD Disc error” for a few seconds and then theCD will be ejected.If the CD player overheats the CD playing could betemporarily interrupted. The radio will automaticallyturn to the Radio (Tuner) mode and the display willshow “CD hot” and then “CD disc error”.
