SETTING UP YOUR PEDOMETERTo record your distance and caloriesaccurately, you will need to set your stridelength and body weight.Finding Your Stride Length: Your stridelength is the length of one of your steps,measured from “toe to toe.” To measure,walk 10 steps with your normal stride andmeasure the TOTAL DISTANCE from thetoe of your starting step to the toe of your10 th step (see diagram below). Divide theTOTAL DISTANCE by 10. This is your stridelength. Example: If you walk 22 feet, yourstride length is 2.2 feet.Setting Your Stride Length: Press theblack MODE button until arrow at the topof display points to “DIST.” Press the graySET button once to enter setting mode.Display will shift to show stride (for example,“F 1.95” means stride is set to 1.95 feet).Press the gray SET button to increase stridelength. Press the yellow RESET button todecrease stride length. Press the blackMODE button to exit setting mode.Setting Your Weight: Press the blackMODE button until arrow at the top of thedisplay points to “CAL.” Press the gray SETbutton once to enter setting mode. Displaywill shift to show weight in pounds. Forexample, “L 165” means weight is set to 165lbs. Press the gray SET button to increaseweight setting. Press the yellow RESETbutton to decrease weight setting. Pressblack MODE button to exit weight settingmode.Setting the Clock: Press the black MODEbutton until the arrow on the top of displaypoints to clock icon . Press the gray SETbutton once to enter clock setting mode,clock readout will flash. Press the yellowRESET button to advance hours. Press thegray SET button to advance minutes. Pressblack MODE button to exit clock settingmode.Note: display will show “A” for AM and“P” for PM.WEARING YOUR PEDOMETERWhile gently holding the belt clip open, slidethe pedometer onto your belt or the top edgeof your pants or skirt. It should fit snugly andlevel, above one knee.Note: The pedometer should be as verticalas possible. Walkers with larger stomachsmay find it helpful to wear the pedometerfarther back on the body, toward one hip.The cover must be closed for thepedometer to work. To avoid losing ordropping your pedometer, use the includedleash and clip to fasten the pedometersecurely to your clothing.Attaching the Leash: Attach the pedometerto the leash by looping the leash aroundthe pedometer belt clip. Next, clasp thewaistband of your clothing with the attachedclip. When regular walk/run movementstops, after 2 seconds the timerpauses and the unit switches tostandby status (Active indicator “▲”disappears).RESETTING YOUR PEDOMETERMost people prefer to reset step, distance,and calorie counts daily.
