Getting Started1-71.3 System StartupAfter making sure that you have set up the system properly andconnected all the required cables, you may now apply power to thesystem.Turning On the System PowerTo power on the system, press the power switch on the front panel(see section 2.1.1). The system starts up and displays a welcomemessage. After that, a series of power-on self-test (POST) messagesappear on the LCD display screen. The POST messages indicate ifthe system is running well or not. See Appendix A for a list of LCDmessages.If the system does not turn on or boot afterpressing the power switch, go to the nextsection for the possible causes of the bootfailure.Aside from the self-test messages, you can determine if the system isin good condition by checking if the following occurred:• Power indicator LED on the front bezel lights up (green)• Power, Num Lock, and Caps Lock LED indicators on thekeyboard light up• Power supply power LED located at the back of the system lightsup (green)
