3 System upgrade72Upgrading the power supplyThe Altos G530 system may ship out with a redundant or non-redundant power supply module.Installing a redundant power supply moduleThe Altos G530 power subsystem consists of two redundant powersupply module bays that accept 610-watt hot-swap redundant powersupply modules. The system ships out with only a single power supplymodule leaving one power supply module bay empty. You have theoption to purchase an extra power supply module to provide thesystem with a redundant power source. A redundant powerconfiguration enables a fully-configured system to continue runningeven if one power supply module fails.WARNING! To reduce the risk of personal injury ordamage to the equipment, the installation of powersupply modules should be referred to individuals who arequalified to service server systems and are trained to dealwith equipment capable of generating hazardous energylevels.WARNING! To reduce the risk of personal injury fromhot surfaces, observe the thermal labels on each powersupply module. You can also consider wearing protectivegloves.WARNING! To reduce the risk of personal injury fromelectric shock hazards, do not open the power supplymodules. There are no serviceable parts inside themodule.Caution! Electrostatic discharge can damage electroniccomponents. Make sure that you are properly groundedbefore handling a power supply module.
