Internet Explorer versions 5, 5.5, or 6 work well, asdoes Netscape versions 6 and above. You will need to log on toyour system with administrator privileges for Storage Manager tofunction properly. Following are ways to check and configureappropriate versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.User System Preparation Using Internet ExplorerWhile the security settings used are up to the user, problems maybe caused when using the High security setting in Internet Explorer.High security typically disables Javascript. When using highsecurity levels in a Web Browser the following Intranet settingsneed to be manually enabled:■ JavaScript■ Cookies (not stored)The following custom level security settings need to be enabled forthe Local Intranet in Internet Explorer 5 and 5.5. Look underTools | Internet Options... for these settings:■ Active Scripting■ Allow per session cookies (not stored)Note: In Internet Explorer 6.0 there is not a security settingfor this. Cookie configuration was moved from under thePrivacy tab. There is no setting for blocking Intranetcookies.■ Bypass the proxy server for local addresses, if you are usingproxy servers.■ Still in the Tools | Internet Options... area, click theConnections tab.■ Click the Lan Settings... button.■ If the Use a proxy server box isn’t checked, exit by clickingOK. You aren’t using a proxy server and needn’t worryabout this setting.
