37AXIS 223M - System OptionsSystem OptionsSecurity - UsersUser access control is enabled by default. An administrator can set up other users, bygiving these user names and passwords. It is also possible to allow anonymous viewerlogin, which means that anybody may access the Live View page, as described below:Users - the user list displays the authorized users and access levels:• Viewer - the lowest level of access, which only allows the user access to the LiveView page.• Operator - an Operator can view the Live View page, create and modify event typesand adjust certain other settings. The Operator does not have access to the SystemsOptions configuration pages.• Administrator - an administrator has unrestricted access to the Setup Tools and candetermine the registration of all other users.To add a new user, click the Add... button and see the online help.User Settings - check the relevant checkboxes to enable:• Enable anonymous viewer login - allows any viewer direct access to the Live Viewpage.• Maximum number of simultaneous viewers - enter a value here to restrict thenumber of unicast viewers accessing the unit. This is useful if you need to save onbandwidth. (Note that all multicast viewers count as 1 viewer.)Note: The AXIS 223M keeps a log of all users that access it. See Logs & Reports, on page 48.Security - IP Address FilteringChecking the Enable IP address filtering box enables the IP address filtering function. Upto 256 IP address entries may be specified (a single entry can contain multiple IPaddresses). Click the Add button to add new filtered addresses.When the IP address filter is enabled, addresses added to the list are set as allowed ordenied addresses. All other IP addresses not in this list will then be allowed or deniedaccess accordingly, i.e. if the addresses in the list are allowed, then all others are deniedaccess, and vice versa. See also the online help for more information.ReferralsTo prevent unauthorized clients from including the video stream from the cameras intoexternal Web pages, check the Referrals checkbox and enter the IP address or Host nameof the computer that hosts the Web pages with the included video stream. Several IPaddresses/host names can be defined and are separated by semicolons (;). This option isonly applicable to Motion JPEG video streams.
