Ifnot lit, or if flashing,there is a problem withthe camera or with theexternal power supply.Network IndicatorAfter completion of the startupand self-test routines, thismulti-colored indicator flashesas follows:ï yellow - activity on a10Mbps networkï green - activity on a100Mbps networkï red - no connection withthe networkNetwork ConnectorThe AXIS 2420 is designed for10 Mbps Ethernet and 100Mbps Fast Ethernet networksand connects to the networkvia a twisted pair category 5cable (10baseT and100baseTX), terminated usinga standard RJ-45 connector.Supporting NWAY, the AXIS2420 detects the speed of thelocal network segment andvaries the speed of data com-munication accordingly (bet-ween 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps).I/O-A ConnectorProvides the physical interface to a singledigital photo-coupled input that is usedfor connecting a variety of external alarmdevices to the AXIS 2420, including tem-perature sensors and switches. In combi-nation with the configurable alarmfacilities, you can quickly develop a varietyof security applications that are triggeredon time- or alarm based- events. The con-nector can also be utilized as an alterna-tive connection point for DC power to orfrom the unit. For pinoutinformation, refer to Appen-dix F - The Unit Connectors.DC-Iris ConnectorIncluding full DC-Iris support, anystandard DC-Iris lens for outdoorapplications can be fitted.The connector provides the powerand control signalling necessary fora DC-Iris lens.I/O-B ConnectorProvides the physical interface for:ï 1 relay switch output - usedfor the control of externalsurveillance devices and ser-vices; e.g. lighting annuncia-tors, audible alarms, etc.ï RS-485/422 port for the con-nection of pan tilt devices,etc.Video Out ConnectorVia a standard BNC connec-tor, this output allows theAXIS 2420 to be connecteddirectly to traditional CCTVsystems. It can also be usedfor adjusting the camerafocus in locations where youare unable to view images ona computer screen.
