Troubleshooting 793————————————————————————————————————————————————————The upper threadbreaks.The upper thread was notthreaded correctly (for example,the spool is not installed correctly,the spool cap is too big for thespool being used, or the threadhas come out of the needle barthread guide).Correct the upper threading. page 31There are knots or tangles in thethread. Remove any knots or tangles. –The upper thread tension is tootight. Loosen the upper thread tension. page 64The thread is tangled, for example,in the bobbin case.Remove the tangled thread. If thethread is tangled in the bobbin case,clean the race and the bobbin case.page 74,page 75The needle is bent or blunt. Replace the needle.page 38The needle is incorrectly installed. Correctly install the needle.The area around the hole in theneedle plate is scratched, or has aburr on it.Replace the needle plate. Contactyour retailer or the nearest authorizedservice center.–The area around the hole in thepresser foot is scratched, or has aburr on it.Replace the presser foot.
