4. OperatingBarco – Argus X Terminal – DOC-3265-2 – user's manual – Revision 06 – February-2005 ___________________________________________________________________ 4-134.6.1 The input cardsFor showing information from external sources like video or RGB data on a Barco display wall a set of input cardsis provided. For integration of video the QUAD A NALOG V IDEO C ARD and the S TREAMING V IDEO C ARD is available and forRGB data the DUAL RGB I NPUT C ARD can be used. Multiple input cards can be inserted into an A RGUS OMNI B US.An X video application allows to display the sources connected to the input cards in individual windows on thedisplay wall, that can be freely scaled and moved within the projection cubes connected to the OMNI B US. Thedisplay options can be set in a dialog box.Quad Analog Video CardFour different video sources (VHS or S-VHS) can be connected to a QUAD A NALOG V IDEO CARD and displayed simulta-neously.Streaming Video CardUp to four MPEG-2 D-1 or CIF video streams per S TREAMING V IDEO C ARD can be decoded and displayed simultane-ously by one S TREAMING V IDEO C ARD .Dual RGB Input CardThe DUAL RGB I NPUT C ARD digitizes one or two analog monitor signals. In dual input mode it supports two monitorsignals with a pixel frequency between 10 MHz and 135 MHz, in single input mode it supports one signal with apixel frequency up to 270 MHz. The most common VESA timings are stored as presets. In addition, user definedtimings can be saved. The timing and aspect ratio of the connected RGB signal are detected automatically. The DUAL RGB I NPUT C ARD has an automated static frame rate reduction depending on number and type of thesignals it processes, please see the table below.static frame rate reduction* used socketdual input mode (two signals, both ≤ 1280×1024@75Hz) 1/3 RGB in 1 AND RGB in 2single input mode (one signal ≤ 1280×1024@75Hz) 1 RGB in 1 OR RGB in 2single input mode (one signal > 1280×1024@75Hz) ½ RGB in 1Table 4-2static frame rate reduction for RGB sources(* values are valid from release of the X server 3.4 on and Control ware 6 of the DUAL RGB I NPUT CARD)To take advantage of the higher frame rate for signals ≤ 1280×1024@75Hz in single input mode, the othersocket may be connected to a second signal but that signal may not be displayed on the display wall. The X video application allows selecting additionally a dynamic frame rate reduction of the source, which mustbe multiplied to the static frame rate reduction to obtain the overall frame rate reduction, please refer also tosection 4.6.4 Displaying video and RGB signals.
