Basic Operation and Features3-26 Basler A500k SeriesPRELIMINARY3.4 Long Exposure Compensation (A504k/kc Only)The long exposurecompensation value can be setto optimize image quality. Thelonger the exposure time, thehigher the long exposurecompensation needs to be. Thelong exposure compensationvalue determines the resetvoltage which is applied to thepixels between two images toachieve full and uniformdischarge. If the long exposure compen-sation is too low at a long expo-sure time, the image showsphoto response non-uniformity(PRNU).If the long exposure compensation is too high at a short exposure time, the dynamic range andthe sensitivity are reduced.Set the long exposure compensation manually according to the following formula or according toTable 3-1:1997 ≤ exposure time ≤ 20000: Long Exposure Compensation = ( Timer1 - 1997 ) * ( 90 / 18003 ) + 70(rounded to the next integer value)You can set long exposure compensation using either the Camera Configuration Tool Plus (seeSection 4.1) or binary commands (see Section 4.2).Exposure time* [μs] Long exposureCommpensation20000 16015000 13510000 1108000 1004000 802000 70Timer 1 determines the exposure time in programmableand free-run mode.
