LOCAL MANAGEMENTPage 5-14The following sections provide a brief explanation of each field on theSNMP Community Names screen and instructions for using them.Component NameDisplays the component name as TRXI Chassis Manager.Community NameDisplays the Community Name or “password” to Local Management.AccessDisplays the access level accorded to each community name. Thefollowing list defines each access code:Read-Only This allows read-only access to Local Management,but excludes access to security protected fields of theupper levels of authorization (Read-Write orSuper-User).Read-Write This allows you to read and write to LocalManagement fields, excluding IP Address, SubnetMask, and Community Names and Ring Security.Super-User This allows read-write access to all modifiableparameters including Community Names, IPAddresses, Traps, Ring Security, and SNMP objects.Editing the Community Name FieldTo edit the Community Name field:1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Community Name field.2. Enter the password, up to 26 characters in length, into the field. Ifyou press Return without entering a password, the field defaultsto Public.3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the SAVE command at the bottomof the screen.4. Press Return. The “SAVED” message appears indicating that yourchanges have been saved to memory.
