Also, leaving your keys in theignition when the engine is turnedoff keeps the vehicle’s electricalmodules active and can drain thebattery.UNIVERSAL HOME REMOTE(if equipped)ProgrammingThe engine must be turned off toprogram the Universal HomeRemote.• Press and hold the channel buttonyou wish to program through thefollowing instructions.• When the remote indicator lightbegins to blink slowly (may takeup to 30 seconds), place yourhand-held transmitter about 1 to 3inches (3 to 8 cm) from theremote and then press and holdthe transmit button on the hand-held transmitter. Continue to holdboth buttons until the indicatorlight on the remote begins to flashrapidly (may take up to 90seconds).Refer to your Owner Manual foradditional programming andoperating instructions.Note: Do not use the Universal HomeRemote transmitter with any garage dooropener that does not have the “stop-and-reverse” feature or any openermanufactured before April 1, 1982.
