Occasionallyyou will hear ice cubes dropping into theice bin. If this is your first icemaker, you’llhear occasional sounds that may beunfamiliar. They are normal icemakingsounds and are not a cause for concern.Evaporator Fan. You may hear air beingforced through the cabinet by the fan.Evaporator. The flow of refrigerantthrough the evaporator may create aboiling or gurgling sound.Defrost Heater. During defrost cycles,water dripping onto the heater may causea hissing or sizzling sound. Afterdefrosting,a popping sound may occur and theevaporator may create a boiling orgurgling sound.Cold Control & Defrost Timer. These partscan produce a snapping sound whenturning the refrigerator on or off. Thetimer also produces a sound similar to anelectric clock.Water Valve (on models equipped with anautomatic icemaker). When the icemakerfills with water, a buzzing sound andrunning water will be heard.Water Pan. Water may be heard runninginto the drain pan during the defrostcycle.Compressor. Modern, high efficiencycompressors operate much faster thanolder models.
