Then tighten the boltusing the toothed nut.· A grounding kit containing an M5 (3/16") SS capbolt, an M5 (3/16") SS flat washer, an M5 (3/16")SS cup washer, and an M5 (3/16") SS nut (withteeth) is used to attach copper grounding wireto a pre-drilled grounding hole on the frame (seeimage below).· Place the wire between the flat washer and the cupwasher. Ensure that the cup washer is positionedbetween the frame and the wire with the concaveside up to prevent galvanic corrosion. Tighten thebolt securely using the SS toothed nut. A wrench maybe used to do this. The tightening torque is 3-7 Nm(2.2-5.2 ft-lbs).6.0MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONSThe applicable regulations pertaining towork safety, accident prevention andsecuring the construction site must beobserved. Workers and third party personnel shallwear or install fall arrest equipment. Any thirdparty need to be protected against injuries anddamages.· The mounting design must be certified by aregistered professional engineer. The mountingdesign and procedures must comply with allapplicable local codes and requirements from allrelevant authorities.· The module is considered to be in compliance withUL 1703 and IEC 61215 only when the module ismounted in the manner specified by the mountinginstructions included in this installation manual.· Any module without a frame (laminate) shall not beconsidered to comply with the requirements of UL1703 unless the module is mounted with hardwarethat has been tested and evaluated with themodule under this standard or by a field inspectioncertifying that the installed module complies withthe requirements of UL 1703.· Canadian Solar Inc. does not provide mountinghardware.· Standard modules can be mounted onto asupport structure using one of several approvedmethods. One of such methods is described below.For details of other mounting methods and themethods recommended by Canadian Solar Inc. forspecial module ranges, please refer to the AnnexA (Alternative Mounting Methods) on our website(www.canadiansolar.com). Doing so will void the warranty.· Standard modules can be installed in eitherlandscape or portrait orientations. Refer to thedetailed instructions for further guidance.
