Make sure the lens and dust capmount indexes are aligned when attaching thedust cap.z Contacts that are scratched, soiled, or havefingerprints on them may result in faultyconnections or corrosion, which may lead tomalfunctions. If the contacts get soiled, cleanthem with a soft cloth.z The lens mount has a rubber ring to improvedust-resistance and water-resistanceperformance. This rubber ring may causefriction marks to appear around the camera’slens mount, although this will have no effect onusage.z Rubber rings can be replaced at Canon ServiceCenter. (chargeable)1.
