68Replacing an ink cartridgeReplace an ink cartridge when it runs out of ink. The frequency of changing the ink cartridges willvary according to how the printer is used. If you frequently print images of heavy density, you willneed to change the ink cartridges more often. For details about cartridge capacity, refer to thespecifications at the end of this user’s guide. (p129)1. Check the POWER lamp and make sure that it is switched on. If the printer is off, switch iton.2. Press the CARTRIDGE button. The cartridge holder moves to the centre and thePOWER lamp starts flashing.If the print head is overheated, it may not move to the centre immediately. Wait a few minutes for theprint head to cool down. Never attempt to move the cartridge manually by pushing it or pulling on thefilm cable.3. Open the top cover.4. Release the hook on the ink cartridge and raise it up as shown in the illustration below.68
