If this wizard appears, click [Cancel] to exit the wizard, and then turnthe scanner OFF.Wizard Screen (Windows 2000)❏ Close all other applications before installing the software.6. Read the software license agreement, and click[Yes] if you consent to its conditions.Installation of the scanner driver starts.This operation installs both the scanner driverand the Job Tool.7. Click [Finish] to complete the installation.Next, the installation wizard for CapturePerfect3.0 appears.8. Click [Next].9. Read the software license agreement, and click[Yes] if you consent to its conditions.10. Check the destination folder for the installation,and click [Next].Installation of CapturePerfect 3.0 starts.11. Click [Finish] to complete the installation ofCapturePerfect 3.0.12. When all installations are complete, theinstallation completed screen appears.Click [Exit] to exit the installer. Lifting the scanner by yourself maycause you to drop it, pinch your hand beneath it, or suffer a serious injury.When moving the scanner, make sure to be very careful and to lift it with twopeople, one at each end.❏ For Users of Cardiac PacemakersThe scanner emits a weak magnetic field. If you use a cardiac pacemaker andexperience any abnormal sensations, move away from the scanner andconsult your doctor.❏ Checking the Transport ScrewWhen shipped from the factory, the optical unit on the scanner is locked inplace with a screw to avoid damage due to shaking during transport. Beforeturning on the scanner, make sure the transport screw has been removed.Turning the power on while the transport screw is in place can damage thescanner.WarningTransport Screw1. Log on to Windows.Be sure to log on with Administrator privilegeswhen logging on to Windows NT/2000/XP.2. Insert the DR-7080C Setup Disc into thecomputer’s CD-ROM drive.The setup wizard automatically starts up whenyou insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROMdrive. If the setup wizard does not start up, runthe setup.exe application on the CD-ROM.The setup menu consists of the following screens:Menu Screen* Installs the scanner driver andCapturePerfect.Typical InstallationRead Manuals Custom Installation* Allows you to select the scanner driverand/or CapturePerfect for installation.* Opens the electronic files of the manualssupplied with the scanner and theCapturePerfect 3.0 Operation Guide.3. Click [Typical Installation].[Typical Installation] installs all of the software.If you want to select which parts of thesoftware to install, click [Custom Installation].4. Click [Install].All of the currently displayed software isinstalled. To install only selected software,click [Back] and select [Custom Installation].5. Click [Next].NoteWhen software installation is complete, icons for each program are registered inthe programs menu of Windows.DR-7080C driver CapturePerfect 3.0This completes the software installation.Next, you need to connect the scanner to your computer.
