326The time code is a time referencerecorded automatically to synchronizethe movie during movie shooting. It isrecorded at all times in the followingunits: hours, minutes, seconds, andframes. It is mainly used during movieediting.Set the time code with [z5: Timecode].Rec run : The time code counts up only while you are shooting amovie. The time code will continue in the sequence of themovie files captured.Free run : The time code counts up whether you are shooting amovie or not.You can set the time code’s start time.Manual input setting: You can freely set the hour, minute, second,and frames.Reset : The time set with [Manual input setting] and[Set to camera time] is reset to “00:00:00.” or“00:00:00:” (p.329).Set to camera time : Sets hours, minutes, and seconds to match thecamera’s internal clock. “Frames” will be set to“00”.3 Setting the Time CodeCount UpStart Time SettingIf you shoot a High Frame Rate movie with [Free run] set, the time codewill not be appended.If [Free run] is set and you change the time, zone, or daylight savingtime (p.55), the time code will be affected.If you play back an MP4 movie with a device other than the camera, thetime code may not be displayed properly.
