303The time code is a time referencerecorded automatically to synchronizethe movie during movie shooting. It isrecorded at all times in the followingunits: hours, minutes, seconds, andframes. It is mainly used during movieediting.Use [z5: Time code] (the [z3] tab in<A>) to set the time code.Rec run : The time code counts up only while you are shooting amovie. The time code will continue in the sequence of themovie files captured.Free run : The time code counts up whether you are shooting amovie or not.You can set the time code’s start time.Manual input setting : You can freely set the hour, minute, second,and frames.Reset : The time set with [Manual input setting] and[Set to camera time] is reset to “00:00:00.” or“00:00:00:” (p.305).Set to camera time : Sets hours, minutes, and seconds to match thecamera’s internal clock. “Frames” will be set to00.3 Setting the Time CodeCount UpStart Time SettingShooting still photos during movie shooting will cause a discrepancybetween the actual time and time code.If [Free run] is set and you change the time, zone, or daylight savingtime (p.49), the time code will be affected.
